SUSPENDED IN TIME | Sacramento River 1

The subject I chose was the Sacramento River with the Sundial Bridge in the distance and the river bend in the foreground -- and decided to let the scene speak to me as I painted.  It felt like I had come to the end of a long hall and just crossed the threshold into the welcoming light of a large family room.  Somewhere in the atmosphere a shift had happened, that "stepping in" to something new, different, never seen before. 

Something good.  Suddenly aware of something that has been here all along.  I felt it for myself, for my family, for Redding and her people and businesses, and on to the state and nation.  It was like floating down the river on a 100+ degree day, letting it take me along for the ride, then finding I had landed right where I should be, and right on time.
